monsters beasts and colouring in

these are some wee monsters i am working on for a 3d project at uni. my theme is the contemporary surrealists, there will be more monsters to come soon. at the moment its the colouring in that i am playing with as i am never sure what kinda colour to go with, its so tricky- do i do it super colourful or washed out and subtle or collaged? so many decisions to make and i never seem to make the right one! humph

i am sorry to be such a rubbish blogger

i may well just take a little hibernation- this is what i have been up to tho! they are for a uni project for a fake cd booklet- we had to make up the name of a band and then illustrate a 12 page booklet to accompany it. i aint so good at concocting names of bands but mine was "milk mountain" and was just another excuse to draw goats- my obsession du jour! o yeah and hippos too but i am a fickle woman and recently went to the zoo all excited for hippo action only for the big fat beasts to stay water bound the whole time i was there- so now i am in a huff with hippos! or hip poos as i wittily have dubbed them! take that hippoos!

ok so i have not strictly stck to my new years resolution to post more often but i promise i have been a busy drawing monkey lately. here are some works in progress for uni! i would love to know what people think as i need help developing my figures!

this is a little photoshoped image i am working on from my mono prints. i am still at a total loss as to what to do with my project but hey ho something will materialise!

bison and birds and bears oh my!

some images from my project i am still hopelessly working on at uni- i am literally besides myself with worry about this roject but i think it will all come together in the end! i hope! the bison is a pencil drawing with a bit of coloured pen, the ber is a lino cut embossing with ink and pencil as a background and the ubiquitous rosy cheek in pen and the bird is lino print with paper cut out, i think the final pece will be the bird layed over the bear? perhaps so you can see the naughty bear lurking in the background?
