moomin candy moomin candy... and a little story

so last week my lovely boyfriend whose amazing work can be found here http://www.philiplackmaker.com/ came to visit me- alas he lives all the way in london and i live in bath- and he brought me this lovely candy tin pictuered at the top. but he was also a lucky man cos i hand made a little story book for him called "taxidermy and the bees" thats what the pictures i have posted before were leading up to.. so here are a few snippets from the book- in which a little girl called olive befriends a lonely bee called beryl.

a few weeks ago i was in a right huff so in an effort to calm the huff storm my wiley boyfriend distracted me at the oriental food super market, where this little package of joy was found, purchased and now finally consumed! i am sure i need not tell you that the mood was lifted

its muggy and i like mugs

well here is todays mug! which i got from magma in mancheter. i had been lusting after it for minths and finally got it and literally twenty minutes later i walked in to Urban Outfitters and saw it for half price! bah i dont even care its so freakin awesome.i do like a nice mug. its been coincidently pretty muggy round her of late!

so here are some drawings and paintings and little felt critters that i am going to TRY to get a shop to stock for me. i used to work in the shop, but i am still so nervous to even ask the boss! i am scared!

bees and taxidermy

so we have a wasps nest outside my window. i am fine with this, i think of them as my pets. my housemates however are not happy and want them.... urgh exterminated... what meanies?

any who this has made me want to write a little picture book, which when its done is a present for my lovely boyfriend, the book is in progress but is about a little girl, called olive and her father is a taxidermist and she has a secret pet bee. its goin to be called the taxidermist and the bee. so here for your viewing pleasure is the illustrations in progress.

my messy desk

so as the title of this blog suggests its basically a place to share all the fruits of my time spent at "my messy desk". although in the interests of full disclosure, often i am most creative sprawled with all my sketchbooks and pens over my bed. but yeah its mostly about the messy desk.
